Privacy Policy Social Downloader
This Privacy Policy explains how Social Downloader (the "App"), package name com.beyond.apps.socialdownloader, published by Beyond Appx ("we", "us", "our"), handles information when you use the App. By downloading or using the App, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Summary
Social Downloader does not require you to create an account, and we do not collect or store your name, email, phone number, or the content of the videos you download. The App uses third-party services (Google AdMob and Google Firebase) that may collect limited technical and advertising data to display ads and keep the App running reliably. Details are below.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not:
Require registration, sign-in, or any personal profile.
Collect your name, email address, or phone number.
Store the video links you paste or the videos you download on our servers.
Access your photos, contacts, or files beyond what is needed to save a downloaded video to your device.
Video links you paste are used only to process your download request and are not retained by us after the download is served.
3. Information Collected by Third-Party Services
The App integrates the following third-party SDKs, which may automatically collect certain data as described in their own privacy policies:
Google AdMob (advertising)
We display ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and process device identifiers, advertising ID, IP address, approximate (non-precise) location derived from IP, and ad-interaction data to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads where permitted. You can learn more and manage ad personalization in Google's Advertising policy and via your device's ad settings.
Google Firebase (app functionality & stability)
We use Firebase Remote Config to manage app settings and features remotely. If you also use Firebase Analytics and/or Crashlytics, keep this sentence; otherwise delete it: We use Firebase Analytics to understand aggregate, anonymous usage patterns, and Firebase Crashlytics to detect and fix crashes. Firebase may process device identifiers, app-usage events, device model and operating-system version, and crash logs. See the Firebase Privacy and Security information.
The data collected by these services is handled under Google's own privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. We do not control how Google processes this data.
4. Device Permissions
The App may request the following permissions:
Storage / Media access — to save downloaded videos to your device's gallery or storage. On Android 13+ this is limited to media (video) access; on older versions it uses storage permission.
Internet / Network access — required to fetch and download videos.
We only use these permissions for their stated purpose. Downloaded files are saved locally on your device and are under your control.
5. How Information Is Used
The limited data collected by third-party services is used to:
Display and measure advertisements.
Keep the App stable and diagnose crashes.
Deliver remote configuration and improve overall app performance.
We do not sell your personal information.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
7. Copyright and Acceptable Use
Social Downloader is a tool intended for downloading content that you own or have the right to save. You are solely responsible for how you use the App and for complying with the terms of service of the platforms you download from and with applicable copyright law. We do not host, own, or distribute any of the content you download.
8. Data Retention
We do not maintain servers that store your personal data. Any data collected by Google AdMob or Firebase is retained according to Google's retention policies. Videos you download are stored only on your own device until you delete them.
9. Your Choices & Rights
Advertising: You can reset or limit your advertising ID in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads).
Uninstalling: You can stop all data collection by the App by uninstalling it.
Regional rights: Depending on your location (e.g., under GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete data held about you. Because we do not directly hold personal data, such requests generally apply to Google; you may also contact us using the details below.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
